17-Year-Old Charged in Carryout Killing

Markell Jones confessed to police last night that he shot and killed Freddie Jones Jr. at the Yau Bros Carryout.

Baltimore resident Markell Jones, of the 3200 block of Westerwald Avenue, confessed Thursday night to shooting and killing Freddie Jones Jr. inside Yau Bros. Chinese Carryout on Monday night, according to Baltimore City police.

The 17-year-old turned himself in at police headquarters with the help of family members, Det. Donny Moses said.

Markell Jones, who has no relation to the victim, is charged as an adult with first-degree murder, armed robbery, assault and various handgun violations.

Moses said police are looking for two accomplices in the crime.
