2 Abducted, Robbed in Roland Park
A gang of three men armed with handguns forced two residents into a car.
Armed robbers attacked two residents in Roland Park early Wednesday morning.
Anthony Guglielmi, a police spokesman, said at about 2 a.m. a 40-year-old woman was returning home from work in the unit block of Upland Road when three robbers forced her into a car.
The robbers, all armed with handguns, took her to a nearby ATM and forced her to withdraw money before releasing her on Roland Avenue.
A short time later the robbers, driving a silver four door Dodge Stratus, spotted a 19-year-old man riding a bike in the 5500 block of Roland Avenue and forced him to crash.
The robbers got out of the car under the pretense of helping the man, but then forced him into the car and demanded an ATM card. When the man said he did not have a card the robbers took other property before releasing him unharmed.
Maj. Sabrina Tapp-Harper, the Northern District commander, said that police are increasing patrols in the area, and are asking residents to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.
"We’re increasing patrols because we’d like to nail the perpetrators," Tapp-Harper said.
She added that officers have not seen any other robberies fitting these crimes descriptions in the district.
Anyone with information regarding these robberies is encouraged to call the Northern District at (410) 396-2455. If residents see anything suspicious they’re urged to call 911.

WBAL-TV news inaccurately reported that this happened at Upnor and North Charles Street. It was at Upland and Roland. Wrong neighborhood.
