6 Robbers Attack Man in Charles Village

The group attacked the man from behind.

Six robbers jumped a man from behind in Charles Village and stole his wallet.

According to Baltimore police, at 9:55 p.m., Feb. 18 a man was walking in the unit block of E. 26th Street when he was passed by a group of six people.

As the man kept walking he heard the robbers approach him from behind. At that point the man was struck and he fell to the ground.

One of the robbers then demanded: "Give me the money."

The man complied and handed over his wallet, cellphone, watch and $50.

The robbers then ran off—one of them riding a bike—in an unknown direction.

It's not bad enough that we can't even walk safely in our own neighborhoods, but we have to contend with roving bands of thieves!

I'm sure the GOP's hoped-for "sequester" will solve all the street crime in Baltimore.

Description of assailants? Description of victim? Just asking for sound journalism....

Tim, there is no description provided by the Baltimore police. Also it's Patch policy not to include items such as race without their being a trait that is out of the usual, such as a face tattoo. And I feel its very sound journalism not to describe the victim in this case as it adds nothing to this story.

was he a college student? He saw the assailants.
Race, height, weight are all important.

Why do people constantly ask for a description anyway? If I told you he was a 5'6" black male 20-30yrs old wearing black jeans and a ravens jacket would you be able to go out and make an accurate citizen's arrest?

Maybe by giving a vague description, someone who did not see the crime in progress but saw someone running away from the area of the scene of the crime may be able to provide a more accurate description.
