Baltimore Mayor's Car Target of Attempted Break-in
According to police reports someone tried to break into a car owned by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

UPDATE (5:51 p.m.)—Even the mayor of Baltimore can be a victim of a property crime.
A man recently tried to break into a car belonging to Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and her husband Kent Blake, according to a Baltimore City police report.
On Jan. 8 at around 1 a.m., Eric Malcolm Mitchell allegedly tried to break into the mayor's 2001 Infiniti in the 4800 block of Strawflower Lane by attempting to open the car with its door handle.
According to a police report, an officer working on the mayor's protective detail spotted the man, via surveillance camera, in a garage area trying to open the doors to the 2001 Infiniti. The officer then ran outside and allegedly saw Mitchell attempt to open the door of another car. At that time the officer gave Mitchell verbal warnings and he was taken into custody.
Mitchell, of Owings Mills, was charged with attempted larceny from auto.
