Charles Village Festival Showcases Neighborhood
The two day festival begins on Saturday and will feature bands, brews and food.
The Charles Village Festival is more than an opportunity for neighbors to get together, have a beer and eat funnel cake.
The festival—which includes a 5K run, and Garden Walk—is a chance for the neighborhood to show itself off to a wider audience.
"I think it's in the mix of drawing people from surrounding neighborhoods, and using the bands to draw people from throughout the metro area and beyond. It does give us a chance to showcase the neighborhood," said John Spurrier, a resident who helps organize the festival.
Spurrier said the fesitval will also offer specialty beesr such as Raven Special Lager, Evolution IPA and Mama's Little Yella Pills.
"You will probably never find such a great mix of brewed beers at another event," Spurrier said.
The Village Learning Place will also be offering kid friendly events in the lower section of Wyman Park Dell, including games and art projects.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Wyman Park Dell near the intersection of Charles and 29th streets.
