President Barack Obama greets attendees to the Quicken Loans Carrier Classic basketball game on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).

President Barack Obama and his family will attend a Saturday basketball game at Towson University, the school announced Friday.

The Obamas will be at the Towson Center Arena to watch the Towson Tigers men's basketball team take on the Oregon State Beavers, coached by First Lady Michelle Obama's brother, Craig Robinson.

The university encourages fans to arrive early for the game, due to the anticipated crowds and security measures. The gates to the Towson Center Arena will open at noon, and fans must be in their seats by 1:45 p.m. for the 2 p.m. tipoff.

Obama will be the first president to visit Towson University, according to Waddell.

The Obamas have traveled to see Oregon State's games in the Washington, DC, area, most recently to George Washington in 2009 and Howard in 2010.

Towson is the Beavers' final East Coast stop this season, and the closest they'll get to DC. Oregon State (4-1) is coming off a trip to East Rutherford, NJ, for the TicketCity Legends Classic Championship, where it beat Texas 100-95 in overtime, then lost to Vanderbilt, 64-62.

Robinson was hired as head coach in 2008.

First-year coach Pat Skerry's young Towson (0-4) team—which returned no starters from last year's lineup—comes home after a tough stretch that included nationally-ranked Kansas, Michigan and Belmont in the mainland round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.

The game will be broadcast on WBAL-AM and ESPN3.com.

I fully agree, although Clinton is right up there, too. Wish I could make it.

Once history gets through with Clinton he'll be just above George W. Bush. There is a disconnect between the current state of our nation and Clinton. History will connect those dots after the current love-fest with Clinton has died down. Why do I blame Clinton (and his spiritual God-Father, Ronald Reagan)? Clinton signed the job killing trade deals (NAFTA and WTO), and he signed the deregulation bills that allowed Wall Street to run our economy into the ground. The list goes on. Why do I blame Reagan? Because it is the spirit of the Reagan Revolution that drove Clinton to the center. Our nation is reaping the dusty wind from the dead seeds sowed by Reagan, Clinton, and George W.

Oh hey, we actually agree on this one.
Clinton got this whole "Great Recession" rolling with NAFTA. I forgot about WTO actually. GW Bush had no idea what was going on (shocker, I know) but I suspect even if he did, he'd have been happy to go along with what Clinton put into play as it's something 'Republicans" conceptually believe in.

I don't blame Reagan however. De-regulation and the whole "Trickle Down Economics" theory were pretty new at the the time, and at the time he was President, was absolutely needed. We're talking 20 years since he left office.
It's the fact that people still buy into it that makes me scratch my head.

Kennedy a great president?
Granted, I wasn't alive then, but please, enlighten me about what he did so 'great' in his three years. Besides almost nuking the planet through utter incompetence, that is.

Finally, I don't believe driving anyone to the center is a bad thing. It's where our politicians should all be, imho. Less radicalism.

Once again Sean shows his true "pinko commie liberal" colors. Anyone who thinks Obama is "the man" at this point in the president’s tenure has some serious issues with their cranium.

If you make the effort to educate yourself on both sides of the arena.... the only REAL truth is ... that time will tell... as always. Who knows for sure. Like betting on the flip of a coin these days.

Gloria, do you really think Obama needs to campaign in the Baltimore area to carry Maryland in 2012? Let's put our thinking caps on, or at least read the story:

"The Obamas will be at the Towson Center Arena to watch the Towson Tigers men's basketball team take on the Oregon State Beavers, coached by First Lady Michelle Obama's brother, Craig Robinson."

As long as Maryland reaps the benefits of high numbers of State and Federal employees it will remain Blueeeee!!! I think we can all agree on that.
