City Announces Laps Around the Lake

For the past two years the city has rented bikes and given classes at Druid Hill Park reservoir and will now do the same at Lake Montebello.

In case last weekend’s wasn’t enough, here’s another chance for you to ride your bike.

Starting tonight the Department of Recreation and Parks will hold the Laps Around the Lake program, which starts at 5 p.m., at Lake Montebello on Tuesday. For the past two years the department has hosted the a similar event, Ride Around the Reservoir, at Druid Hill Park reservoir, according to a news release.

Every Tuesday through August the city will offer bike lessons, $5 bike rentals and helmets so residents may ride around the Lake Montebello from 5 to 8 p.m. The Ride Around the Reservoir program will also continue at Druid Hill Park reservoir from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays through August.
