Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young will speak about the future of the city.
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young will speak at the first general meeting of a local political club aimed at getting younger residents involved in Democratic Party politics.
The B.E.S.T. Democratic Club's general meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday at Chef Mac’s, 4709 Hartford Road, and the focus of the meeting will be on the future of Baltimore City, according to news release.
McCray said the group continues into its second year of existence—it was founded in January 2012—it will continue the discussion about state and local politics and their impact on city communities.
"We have to have the political conversation all year round—not just the three months before an election."
He said the group will also continue reaching out to schools and trying to educate children about the political process, by continuing events like the held last year where they took 22 middle school students to Annapolis.
"It’s always about building [on] what you had last year," McCray said.
