The injured man was cut in the 1000 block of West 36th Street.

A man was walking on The Avenue when a knife-wielding assailant cut him on Wednesday.

According to police, a man was walking at 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 36th Street, when an unknown assailant pulled out a pocketknife. The man was sliced on his right hip and abdomen.

The assailant ran of west toward Falls Road and was later arrested.

Does anyone know anything about the stabbing that happened last Saturday night (the 9th) on the 3600 Paine st. block? There were lots of cops, detectives and a witnessed stabbing. The rumor is that the guy died, but I haven't read about this anywhere. Does anyone know what actually happened and why it's not being covered?

Carissa, the incident will be included in tomorrow's crime log. According to the report there was a verbal argument, and someone pulled out a knife. However, no one was stabbed and the person who made the threat was arrested.

Hmm, that is very strange. My neighbor had blood all over her car and there are even blood stains still on our street.

Let me try to get in touch with Baltimore police public information (they've not been answering the phones today) The incident is listed in the part one crime but makes no mention of a stabbing. It did say that it started over a fight about someone throwing broken bottles.

Adam, thanks for checking this out :) The report in today's Patch Police Blotter indicates that the feud concerning the broken bottles occurred on Paine Street. This version of the incident sites The Avenue - or 36th Street - as being the location of the altercation... Are they one in the same or 2 separated incidences... Thanks again.

Babo, these are two different incidents. Police are maintaining the Paine Street incident was limited to a man pulling out a knife, but not stabbing anyone.
