Man ‘Shot’ Buying Marijuana Arrested on Gun Charges

Deandre Lillie faces multiple gun charges after telling police he was shot buying drugs in Harwood.

The man who reported being shot in the leg in Harwood while trying to buy marijuana was arrested Wednesday afternoon on gun charges.

According to Baltimore police, Deandre Lillie, 29, now faces charges of possessing a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a firearm and having a handgun on his person. 

Lillie was allegedly taken into custody with a handgun on him at his residence in the 500 block of E. 38th Street when the Warrant Apprehension Task Force went to arrest him.

On March 5, Lillie reported being shot in the 400 block of Ilchester Avenue and took himself to Union Memorial Hospital.

Lillie then told the police he was shot while trying to buy marijuana.

But police said there were no reports of gunshots in the area on that night, and a source said it was possibile the wound was self-inflicted. 

"There were officers in the area and no one heard gunshots," Det. Angela Carter-Watson told Patch earlier this week.
