North Baltimore Crime: Cops Capture Stromboli Thief

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Larceny Other: 400 E. 31st Street, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Jan. 20. A purse containing a wallet, bankcard, cellphone and keys were stolen from an office in a church.

Robbery Unarmed: 600 block E. 33rd Street, 2 p.m., Jan. 21. A woman asked a man to give him money he owes her. They started to argue and the slammed the woman’s head against a storefront, took $4 from her hand but drop the cash as he fled. The man was later arrested in the 3100 block of Guilford Avenue.

Larceny Shoplifting: 3000 block of N. Charles Street, 12:34 a.m., Jan. 20. A man walked into Maxie’s Grille, picked up a Stromboli and started eating it. When he was told that he would have to pay for the food he ran away, but responding officers located and arrested the man.

Stolen Auto: 2800 block of N. Calvert Street, between 7 p.m., Jan. 20 and 1 a.m., Jan. 24. A 1999 Dodge van was stolen.

Larceny from Auto: between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Jan. 22. The window of a 2002 Suzuki was broken and a handicap placard was stolen.

Hampden

Larceny from Auto: 3800 block of Buena Vista Avenue, between 5:45 and 8:30 p.m., Jan. 20. The window of a 2007 Ford was broken out and a Garmin GPS was stolen from.

Larceny Bicycle: 3100 blocks Keswick Road, 6:10 p.m., Jan. 21. A bike was stolen after the railing it was attached to was broken.

Stolen Auto: 1300 Dellwood Avenue, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 21 and 11 p.m., Jan. 22. A 2004 Chrysler Sebring was stolen.

Fourth Degree Burglary: 3500 block of Falls Road, 4:21 p.m., Jan. 22. A juvenile was arrested inside a vacant house.

Larceny from Auto: 1500 block of Union Avenue, between 8:15 a.m. and 5:05 p.m., Jan. 23. A Tom Tom GPS, purse, checks and two ATM cards were stolen from a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer.

Larceny Shoplifting: 1100 block of W. 41st Street, 10:47 a.m., Jan. 23. A shoplifter stole a pack of Newport Cigarettes from the Royal Farms Store.

Larceny Shoplifting: 1000 block of W. 41st Street, 4:15 p.m., Jan. 24. A suspect tried to steal a package of K-cups, but was stopped and arrested.

Harwood

Robbery Armed: 2600 block of Greenmount Avenue, 5 a.m., Jan. 22. A woman was operating an illegal taxi when she was robbed knifepoint. 

Homeland

Larceny: 5500 block of York Road, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Jan. 23. A tan purse, drivers’ license and ATM card were stolen from a common area.

Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus

Larceny: 3400 block of N. Charles Street, noon, Jan. 21. Someone stole a laptop from an unlocked classroom.

Attempted Larceny: 3400 block of N. Charles Street, 3:45 p.m., Jan. 23. A thief tried to take a computer from a classroom but was interrupted by a custodian.

Larceny: 3400 block of N. Charles Street, 2:15 p.m., Jan. 24. A laptop was stolen from an unsecured classroom.  

Larceny: 3400 block of N. Charles Street, 11:38 a.m., Jan. 24. A thief stole a laptop from an unsecured classroom.

Jones Falls Area

Larceny from Auto: 1500 block of Clipper Mill Road, between 7 and 7:50 p.m., Jan. 20. The window of a Lexus was broken out and a laptop, contact lenses and a book bag.

Lake Walker

Burglary Residential: 6200 Yorkshire Drive, between 545 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Jan. 23. A burglar broke into the house and stole a Cannon camera; coins; Oxycodone; Burnetts vodka; Amaretto; and a 2012 tax return.

North Roland Park/Poplar Hill

Larceny from Auto: 5800 block of Roland Avenue, between 3 p.m., Jan. 25 and 2:40 p.m., Jan. 26. An ID badge and an iPod were stolen from an unlocked car. 

Oakenshawe

Burglary Residential: 200 block of E. University Parkway, 9:50 p.m., Jan. 24. A burglar broke in through a rear door and stole a 32 inch television; dresser door handles; space heater; check book; coins; iPod; Xbox 360; and speakers.

The Orchards

Larceny from Auto: Unit block of W. Melrose, between midnight, Jan. 20 and midnight, Jan. 21. A spare tire was stolen from a 2006 Mercedes.

Larceny from Auto: 5700 block of Greenleaf Road, between 10:30 p.m., Jan. 25 and 8:30 a.m., Jan. 26. $20 was stolen from an unlocked 2006 Volvo.

Roland Park

Larceny Shoplifting: 4600 block of Falls Road, 12:39 a.m., Jan. 21. A shoplifter stole cigarettes from the CVS.

Sabina-Mattfeldt

Larceny from Auto: 1300 block of Smith Avenue, between 6:15 and 10:10 p.m., Jan. 24. A makeup bag was stolen from a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. 

Winston-Govans

Larceny Other: 4900 York Road, between 9:30 and 11:10 a.m., Jan. 24. A purse was stolen from an unattended office.

Woodbourne-McCabe

CDS Violation: 500 Sheridan Avenue, 12:40 p.m., Jan. 22. A “hand rolled cigar containing plant material” was seized by police. 

Wyman Park

Larceny from Auto: 3500 Beech Avenue, between 6 p.m., Jan 21 and 7:30 a.m., Jan. 22. A Garmin GPS was stolen from a 2003 Honda.
