North Baltimore Crime: Drive-By Purse Snatching

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery Unarmed: West 40th Street, 700 block, 4:20 p.m. Jan. 1. A woman was loading groceries in her car when a white minivan drove up and a robber leaned out the window, grabbed her purse and pulled her to the ground.

Larceny from Auto: Guilford Avenue, 3000 block, between noon Jan. 1 and 8:30 a.m. Jan 2. Golfing equipment stolen from a car.

Robbery/ Carjacking Armed: Barclay Street, 3100 block, 9:30 p.m. Jan 2. A man was about to climb into his Jaguar automobile when two robbers approached. One of the robbers put an unknown hard object to the man’s head that he believed was a handgun. The robber said, “You know when that is, kick it out.” The man said he didn’t have anything and the robber patted him down, took his keys and drove off in his car.

Burglary Residential: Guilford Avenue, 3000 block, between 8:10 p.m. and 9: 50 p.m. Jan 2. A burglar forced an air conditioning unit from the window and entered the home. The burglar took two MacBooks, two televisions and a Wii.

Larceny from Auto: Hadley Square West, 3800 block, between 9:40 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Jan. 1. Garmin GPS stolen from vehicle.

Wilson Park

Shooting: Oakland Avenue, 500 block, 5:35 p.m. Jan 1. A man was shot multiple times and taken to Johns Hopkins for treatment.  

Medfield

Stolen Auto: Newport Avenue, 4200 block, between 8:30 p.m. Jan 1. and 9 a.m. Jan 2. A 2003 Jaguar S Type was stolen.

Homeland

Burglary Garage:  Broxton Road, 300 block, 12:30 p.m. Jan 2. A burglar forced the rear door open and stole a bike.

Larceny from Auto: Taplow Road, 300 block, between 6 p.m. Jan. 2 and 8 a.m. Jan. 3. The door lock of a 2001 Jeep was forced open and a suitcase, personal paper, security lights, $3 and a Bluetooth were stolen.
