North Baltimore Crime: Man Stabbed in Abell

Aggravated Assault: 3200 block of Brentwood Avenue, 12:30 a.m., July 26. Two men were at Melba’s bar when they got into an argument. When one man left the assailant followed him and stabbed him in the hand with a box cutter.
Larceny from Auto: unit block of East 30th Street, between midnight and 12:35 p.m., an MP3 player was stolen from a 2005 Toyota.
Arson: 100 block of West 29th Street, 12:49 a.m., July 24. Someone set a front door on fire and ran away.
Burglary Commercial: 2600 block of North Charles Street, between 8 p.m., July 25 and 4:50 a.m., July 26. A burglar broke into the Future Care Homewood garage office and stolen an undisclosed amount of money.
Burglary Residential: 2900 block of St. Paul Street, between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., July 27. A burglar entered the home through a rear window and stole a television, video games systems and a cable box.
Stolen Auto: 1300 block of Dellwood Avenue, 3 p.m., July 22. A 2006 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen.
Aggravated Assault: 300 block of East 25th Street, 4 a.m., July 28. A man approached a woman, pointed a handgun at her and punched her multiple times. The man then ran west.
Burglary Garage: 300 block of Woodbourne Avenue, between 9 a.m., July 24 and 6:30 a.m., July 25. A burglar entered the garage and stole a bike, tools and a stereo.
Robbery Armed: 5600 block of Woodcrest Avenue, 10:35 a.m., July 27. A robber approached another man and asked for a cigarette. When he pulled the cigarette out of his pocket and his medicine fell out. The robber picked up the medicine, implied he had a weapon and ran away.
Burglary Residential: 2600 block of Miles Avenue, between 11:30 a.m. and 7:05 p.m., July 22. A burglar entered the home through an unlocked rear door and stole money and a TV.
Stolen Auto: 300 block West 29th Street, 3:30 p.m., July 28. A blue and white 2007 Jins scooter was stolen.
Larceny from Auto: 500 block of Chateau Avenue, between 12:20 and 12:40 p.m., July 24. A Samsung Galaxy cell phone was stolen from a blue 2005 Chevy truck.
Unarmed Commercial Robbery: 5300 York Road, 6 p.m., July 28. A shoplifter was attempting to steal candy and was caught by employees. The shoplifter then hit the employees trying to run away.
Unarmed Commercial Robbery: 5300 York Road, 9:30 a.m., July 24. A shoplifter tried to steal a bucket, baseball cards and deodorant but was caught by security. She hit security in the face and the ran away but was arrested a short time later.
Larceny from Auto: 5100 block of North Charles Street, 12:15 p.m., July 27. The window of a 2006 Jeep was broken and a handbag, credit card and bank card were stolen.

Why is the city not releasing the descriptions of the assailants/suspects, especially in cases of violent crimes and crimes with witnesses? What are they afraid of..having citizens on watch for suspects? ...actually arresting people who commit crimes, then having to house them? If we really want protection from crime we need to know who the criminals are...
