North Baltimore Crime: Shootout Near Homeland

York Road, 5400 block, 5:46 p.m. Nov. 21. An argument between two people broke out and resulted in one suspect firing a handgun at a woman who then returned fire with her own handgun. She then fled the scene with an unknown man while the other suspect tried to get away in a 1995 Lincoln but was stopped by Baltimore City police. Police said they recovered a handgun.

Falls Road, 3900 block, 4:53 p.m. Nov. 20. An employee and a customer at UHAUL Inc. were standing outside when two robbers approached them. One of the robbers, who was carrying a silver handgun, then told the employee, “This is serious. This is serious.” The robber then told the employee, “You got the key to the safe, let's go inside.” The customer and employee began struggling with the suspects who ran away, police said.

Roland Avenue, 4800 block, 12:30 a.m. Nov. 23. A woman got into her vehicle when a man wearing a “doctor’s mask” approached and pointed a black handgun at her and demanded she, “Open the window or I’ll shoot you.” The woman got out of the car and the man snatched her purse. That’s when the woman noticed the gun was a toy and chased the man, but he got away. Part of the toy gun was left at the scene, police said.

Cylburn

Woodland Avenue, 2500 block, 6 p.m. Nov. 21. A woman was taking her trash out when a robber grabbed her and demanded her purse. The robber took the purse and told her, “don’t look back” before running away, police said. The woman went to her car and left the area and then called police.

Charles Village

East 25th Street, unit block, 1:10 p.m. Nov. 23. A man had a friend over when they started to have an argument that escalated to the point where the guest threw a CS gas canister into the apartment, police said.
