By the end of his events at the London Olympics, Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympian of all time.
The North Baltimore Aquatic Club swimmer and Rodgers Forge native secured 22 medals, including 18 gold ones. But his performance in the 2012 Olympics had its highs and lows.
Phelps had a disappointing start when he failed to receive a medal in his first race of the Summer Olympics, the 400-meter medley. He finished strong with a gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly—his last solo event—and helped his team claim gold in the 4x100-meter medley relay.

I personally think Michael Phelps did a wonderful job and exceeded expectations. He is a champion to be appreciated by the State of Maryland for his performance and his craft. Yea Michael, and I think that he deserves a ticker tape parade.
