High time to organize vigilante groups!!! BCPD (that does not release perp descriptions and most cops live elsewhere), the court system (that keeps putting felons back on the street and does not administer justice in the same way as the rest of the state) and the mayors office (runs out any police programs that work) do not care about north Baltimore. If we want a safe place to do our business and raise our families we the citizens living in North Baltimore need to start doing our own policing and punishment.

I totally agree Matt. But we've made the decision to get out of the city and move to the country. NOT county. But country. We just can't take one more minute of the violence and the sadness. And we're trying to have a baby. I'm actually scared to be pregnant in my present neighborhood. Whether I'm in the house or walking home from the bus. No human should have to live like this. Greenmount really is becoming a war zone, and having the MD State police there to create a police state is really the beginning of the end. It's all just so depressing for so many reasons.

Part of the solution is beat cops. Out of their patrol cars, walking the main drags. This is a proven deterrent......similar to an alarm warning posted outside of a house......I am frustrated and honestly have spoken with the powers that be at the Northern. I am respectful of their tenure and time on the job but I am a bit incredulous that they may not think they can do better.
