Mt. Washington Tavern Fire Damage Estimated at $2.5M
The owner of the Mt. Washington Tavern has vowed to rebuild following Monday morning's fire.
The total damage from the Mt. Washington Tavern Fire is estimated to be $2.5 million, said Chief Kevin Cartwright, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Fire Department.
The cost of the damage to the building is estimated to be $2 million and damage to the contents is estimated to be $500,000.
Fire officials are also still investigating the cause of the fire, Cartwright said.
Tavern owner Rob Frisch said on Monday, as firefighters attempted to extinguish what was left of the two alarm fire, that he intended to rebuild the tavern "better than ever."
