Toilet Racers Prep for Race Day
The toilet racers will be competing for a third consecutive year at the annual Hampdenfest.
Nothing says September quite like toilet racing.
For the third straight year toilet racers will be competing during the annual Hampdenfest scheduled for Sept. 8.
Toilet racers come in a wide variety of styles but all are built around the racers' very special seats—toilets.
On Saturday several racers traveled to East Baltimore to start construction of their toilet racers. They were joined by Baltimore residents who were putting together their carts for the Highlandtown Art Cart Derby on Oct. 6.
Racers can register to enter the race at Wholly Terra and Falkenhan’s or download a registration form from the festival website.
Interested racers will be able to register for the race up until the morning of the festival on Sept. 8.
Correction: A store, where residents interested in participating in the races could register, was incorrect in an earlier version of this story due to a reporter's error. Patch regrets the mistake.
