Where's the Best Sandwiches?

Vote on the shop you think has the best sandwiches.

This week in our Readers' Choice contest we're looking for the establishment with the best sandwiches in North Baltimore.

Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving anyone off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

Curb Shoppe

Subway (503 W. Cold Spring Lane)

Philly's Best

King's Pizzas and Subs Express

Alonso's Restaurant and Packaged Goods

Banksy's Cafe

Carma's Cafe

Hopkins Deli

Atwater's

Charles Village Pub

Roland Park Bakery and Deli

Eddie's Market of Charles Village

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday.

  • Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, positive comments below and in reviews on each of the businesses' Patch Places directory listings (you can reach them by clicking on the businesses above).
  • Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

If your business is listed here, learn how to claim your listing for free on North Baltimore Patch by reading this article.

We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

So tell us where is the best place to buy sandwiches. And don't forget to tell us why in the comments below.

The Roland Park Bakery & Deli now in Hampden on 35th &Chestnut. Why? Because it is an independent, local business, and the food is homemade and great!

Curb Shoppe by far. All burgers made fresh to order never frozen. All deli meats bought locally as well fresh also.

What about Roland Park Bagel? Only place to get pork roll on a breakfast sandwich plus an amazing club on an everything bagel!

Curb Shoppe, without a doubt! The Shrimp Salad is the best in my opinion!

Whenever I want something good to eat instead of just filling my belly, I go to the Curb Shop Bar and Grill on Falls Road across from the Mt. Washington Bike Store. The place is bright and clean and I always seem to sit next to a friendly guy or gal who's fun to talk to. But the real winner here is the food. How about a homemade Chicken Noodle or a Beef Vegetable soup or a cup of Chile to warrm your tummy. Then something from the menu of sandwiches, platters, subs, or the daily specials, which include grilled and fried chicken combos, a huge BLT brimming with tomato slices and crisp bacon, or my choice - the Curb Shop Shrimp Salad. It literally is so big that the top slice of bread slides off the mound of fresh, meaty, and tasty shrimp. I like a dash of Tobasco and a little Worcester on it - it reminds me of Atlantic City many years ago when I took world-famous "dancer" Irma the Body to Kornblau's on Pacific Avenue and we split a shrimp salad and their new creation - the "Cloak and Dagger" (corned beef, cole slaw, Russian dressing). It was late November,1963 -the 22nd- the day we lost our best President.
