COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCESS BYPASSED
BY MAYORAL AIDE; ILLEGAL DEAL WAS CUT,
BOARD OF ESTIMATES TOLD WEDNESDAY
The mayor is ‘not being truthful,… not… honest.’

As first reported Wednesday evening by WBFF-Fox45-TV, the comptroller, Joan M. Pratt, charged Rawlings-Blake with "not being truthful, …not being honest," and said the mayor’s actions violated the City Charter by attempting to "take over the duties of the comptroller." ............

I will back up our comptroller and also call our city leader, SRB a liar, or "not being truthful,...not being honest." Keeping in mind however that there are MANY liars filling the seats downtown. SRB and others continually pull the wool over the citizens' eyes which have a horrendous effect on our communities, neighborhoods and wallets. It's disgraceful! More disgraceful than this however is the FACT that as we become more and more aware of how blatant thier behavior is, THERE IS NO ONE IN BALTIMORE CAPABLE OF REPORTING what REALLY takes place, particularly at the BOE meetings.
It is business as usual for the mayor, and others downtown to cutting illegal deals! Can ANYONE really say they are shocked that this takes place CONSTANTLY.
BRAVO to Comptroller Pratt for calling it as she knows it!

After reading the article (I was pulled in by the headline itself) I have to say... this is normal behavior for our city 'leader'. Not just the act itself, but by beings so....Blase' about it. Sipping her coffee... If she's not sipping coffee, she's sipping orange juice. And non responsive. All in all, doesn't mean much at all to her. She's supposed to be the boss/the overseer of The Baltimore Development Corporation and well... she's in good company with THOSE folks for sure.
Starting to get the feeling that she's not really concerned with being a true leader...with both personal and professional ethics.... and with anything other than biding her time till she's moves on to the state level position she's being groomed for.

While I think the city officials probably do not need video phones, I don't think there purchase is illegal, from what little information I've read. I think Pratt feels like her toes were stepped on more than anything else.
