Orioles Magic Finally Back in Baltimore

With just 57 games left to go in the MLB season, our own
Baltimore Orioles are in the thick of the playoff hunt. That is something we O’s
fans haven’t been able to say for a very long time!
The atmosphere of Maryland baseball fans has just been
different this year. Optimism is what fans across the state have been able to experience
this year! When I talked to one fan about what the difference has been this
year, he said “The fun, when your team is winning, it is FUN!”
Winning Is exactly what the Orioles have been doing. At this
point last year, the Orioles were 42-63 and 23.5 games back in the AL East
Race. Now? This seemingly brand new team is 55-49 and just 2 games out from
being a Wild Card team!
One of the biggest differences this year has been the
pitching staff. New faces like Jason Hammel, Wei-Yin Chen, and Darren O’Day
have been rock solid on the hill this year. Pitching is huge for this team
considering our lineup has been hitting the ball day in, and day out. The team
can finally put Pitching and Hitting together, all leading up to a win!
The Orioles have 30 home games left in this season with a
huge 10-game home stand coming up against the Mariners, Royals, and rival Red
Sox! So make sure you head out to the yard at least one more time this year to
support our HOME TEAM! You will not be sorry!

It has been a great year for the O's but, in my opinion, they are beginning to fade. If they make the playoffs, I'll be surprised. But I am happy with the season. I've been to more O's games this year than I have in the last five combined. And, for me, being a great supporter of the Washington-Baltimore (whoops, Baltimore-Washington) Consolidated Metro Area, my Nat's are playing superbly. Now they will most likely make the playoffs and Johnson should get manager of the year, no matter what.
