A City For Citizens

Increased Awareness An Opportunity For Action

Finally local media and city residents seem to be getting it. Violent crime in our city is the greatest single threat to our continued existence, growth and sustainability.

For years I've screamed from the highest rooftops about how our city is dying, and not only are we killing it, but collectively we stand around and look as all vitality slowly slips away. Like watching an elderly relative on life support, we've decided to accept hopelessness.

Wasn't long ago, city officials did their best to deflect all substantive talk of the violence epidemic plaguing our city. If we're not careful, current crime talk and it's accompanying fervor will make it easy for them to conveniently ignore our other pressing issues.

Now that my years long quest of increased crime awareness looks like it's been successful, I intend to bring attention to other oft ignored and overlooked affairs.

Between the marches and the rallies and even increased rhetoric, I'm starting to believe that perhaps we're seeing super teeny steps of moving in the right direction. The people of Baltimore are realizing, if they want a better Baltimore, they're gonna have to build it themselves.

The solutions won't come from government. But we're going to need their help and this will only come about by pressuring them to perform at times, and other times, they'll have to stay the hell out of our way.

A New Era Emerges

Since my continued presence here has been so graciously requested by the government, I intend to spend my time constructively contributing. In furtherance of my efforts working with the people of Baltimore to bring about a more livable city, I've launched The Baltimore Citizen. Be sure to check it out.

For those of you familiar with my prior projects found all over the web, I assure you, this will be unlike anything done before. As a hub for community activism and resident participation, I have a vision of making specific, tangible improvements to our city, enhancing the quality of life for all of us.

The mission is multifaceted and more involved than can easily be explained in any one story, but in time, to those interested in being involved, it will become increasingly clear.

I truly BELIEVE we deserve better, and can even have better. But we're gonna have to get up and go for it. Baltimore should be a city for citizens.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
