Baltimore Police Vs. Detroit Police -- Is There Much Difference?

One of the more bizarre stories coming out of Detroit this week has been the arrest of two police officers, pretending to be police officers, while robbing and beating people. This is only the latest in a long, long string of abuse and misconduct attributed to Detroit Police.

A Baltimore Police officer was suspended yesterday after video showed him slapping a kid around after a high speed car chase. This came less than two weeks after a traffic stop gone bad, led to the death of Tyrone West. West was unarmed, and witnesses say police beat and stomped him to death. There's still no cause of death or reason given for the initial stop.

In a recent article, I examine some of the similarities between the continuous allegations of abuse, misconduct, excessive force and crime by cops, in both the Detroit and Baltimore police departments. I'd love your feedback on it.

From my brief research, it's possibly one of the most comprehensive compilations of recent criminal activity by Baltimore Police officers, published in one place.
