New Place, Familiar Face -- A Blog For All Seasons & Different Reasons

A familiar face joins the North Baltimore Patch crew. A.F. James MacArthur blogs about whatever seems to be annoying him at the moment.

With all the different websites and blogs available today, you're probably asking yourself, do we really need ANOTHER blog in Baltimore?

I want to tell you this one's gonna be different, but who hasn't heard that before?  I'd rather show by doing, and not just say with shallow talk.

By now, if you're reading this, chances are you're familiar with my unique brand of news, views and commentary.  You've probably read some of my stories in the past, seen my photos, or maybe even watched a few of the videos I've produced.  If not, then hang on to your seats.  You ain't seen nothing yet.

In a new media world filled with all kinds of voices, all sorts of chatter, in a day and age where anyone with an internet connection can be a reporter, it's hard to find a voice to rely on, to cut through the clutter.  In Baltimore, one major media outlet dominates the universe and most of the rest usually follow along, often merely parroting their output.  Alternatives are tough to find.

While this blog, or this site has no intentions of replacing or substituting any other news source, the purpose is to add to choice, while providing a different voice.  Baltimore news consumers deserve a wider offering and increased options.

I'll use this space to write about a wide variety of topics and events that interest me, and will hopefully interest you.  There really are no rules here, so just about anything is possible in where will could go.

For those familiar with my insightful, hard hitting news coverage and investigative reporting on other sites, keep in mind, this is a somewhat casual, informal outlet for me to go in what ever direction suits my desire at any given time.

On occaison, you may see news stories written and contributed by me on various other sites.  As an independent journalist, not employed by the mainstream media, I'm able to do this.

I'm really excted about the opportunity to reconnect with many of the readers that have followed me faithfully over the years.  I'm also looking forward to making new connections as this new journey begins.

As a bonus, another plus about not being some big time news guy, is I'm easy to reach.  Feel free to contact me to share your thoughts, questions, comments or story ideas at 410-205-NEWS (6397).  This is my personal number, feel free to call anytime, just don't abuse it.

I'm also on twitter; twitter.com/BaltoSpectator
