Air Quality Alert in Effect Until Midnight

High concentrations of pollutants could cause health problems for the elderly, children or people suffering from heart conditions.

The Maryland Department of the Environment’s air quality advisory for Baltimore is scheduled to expire at midnight Tuesday. The warning was issued at 4:25 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service’s website.

According to the alert, an air quality warning is issued when air pollution could cause health problems for sensitive groups such as children, the elderly and people with heart or lung conditions.
