Facebook Page Lobbies for Rotunda Trader Joe's

Some residents believe the specialty grocery store should replace Giant.

It didn’t take long for some residents to start lobbying for a replacement for the Giant at the Rotunda—Trader Joe’s.

Supporters of bringing the specialty grocery store to the shopping center have launched a Facebook page that links to a “location request form” on Trader Joe’s website. The page currently has 427 "likes."

It was announced last week that the Giant supermarket that has been a key tenant at the Rotunda, was moving to another location on 41st Street.

However, there may be some neighborhood competition brewing. Many Charles Village residents have said they would like to see a Trader Joe’s come to the proposed 25th Street Station where big box home improvement retailer Lowe’s backed out of the project.
