Friends Raise Money for Shooting Victim

The man was shot during a robbery in the 4000 block of Roland Avenue.

Friends of the man shot twice during a robbery in the 4000 block of Roland Avenue early Wednesday morning are raising money to help pay his medical bills.

Funds are being raised through the website gofundme.com.

According to Baltimore police, he was shot during a robbery that may be part of a larger crime spree involving juveniles who sneak up on pedestrians, rob people and use stolen cars as getaway vehicles.

Maj. Kimberly Burrus, the Northern District commander, sent an email to residents on Thursday saying she believes the shooting is connected to the robberies.

Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke, who represents the area where most of the robberies happened, has called on Baltimore police to send more manpower to help crackdown on the crime wave.
