PHOTOS: Brewtherville Labs Brew Day At Union

The Lutherville-based homebrew club met at Union Craft Brewing in Woodberry Saturday to create some batches of beer.

A group of area homebrewers got together Saturday at a Woodberry brewery to make some beer.

Members of the Lutherville-based Brewtherville Labs hung out at Union Craft Brewing from about 9 a.m. until the early evening Mar. 16, brewing batches of everything from a clone of craft mainstay Dale's Pale Ale to a Belgian-inspired Pale Ale recipe.

The club, which has around 30 members, meets third Tuesdays of each month at Mount Washington Tavern in Mount Washington. Previously the group met at Grand Cru in Belvedere Square but outgrew the space.

Co-founders Stephen "Stewie" Kinsey and Michael Heitt told Patch in the past that the club is for brewers of all skill levels: from those who have never brewed to those who brew regularly from scratch.

Despite the club a name that screams Lutherville (indeed it's named for Lutherville Lab Elementary School, where the founders kids went to school) Kinsey said previously that anyone is welcome to join the club.

"If people are willing to drive from Pikesville, Owings Mills, White Marsh they're certainly welcome," he said.
