Vintage North Baltimore: Union Avenue

Check out this historic photograph, courtesy of the Baltimore County Public Library.

Woodberry sure has changed since the late 19th century, when this photograph was taken.

The neighborhood is now home to the iconic Woodberry Kitchen and Union Craft Brewing, among other local businesses.

In this photo, though, the neighborhood is a hub of industry. This shot shows Woodberry at the Union Avenue crossing, according to a catalog entry at the Baltimore County Public Library. On the left is the Poole & Hart iron works and the large building left of center is the Charles H. Barton and Brothers store, with housing behind it. On the right side of the photo, you can see the Woodberry and Park Mills.
