'Baltimore Messenger': Tensions Over HONfest Surface at Merchants' Meeting

Festival founder Denise Whiting defended rules restricting what vendors can sell.

Some members of the Hampden Village Merchants Association expressed their displeasure with HONfest creator Denise Whiting during a meeting Wednesday, according to the Baltimore Messenger.

According to the article, long-simmering tensions about the festival's purpose, and its impact on local businesses and churches were discussed with Whiting during the meeting.

As previously reported, an application for participating merchants that limited what could be sold and who could participate created a stir with Hampden businesses last week.
