Hampden Merchants Want Methadone Clinic Closed

The Baltimore Messenger Reports local merchants have had enough of the clinic's clients causing problems in the neighborhood.

Hampden merchants and Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke want a methadone clinic near The Avenue closed because it's a constant source of complaints, according to The Baltimore Messenger

Merchants and residents alike have complained about about Health Solutions at the Rail since it opened about three years ago on Falls Road near the intersection with West 36th Street.

Benn Ray, the owner of Atomic Books and president of the Hampden Village Merchants Association, told Patch in 2011 that the clinic had been a constant nuisance for his store located just down the street.

“It’s like the Wild West out here in the mornings,” Ray said at that time.
