Kegasus Returns

The beer-guzzling centaur will again be the center of advertisements for the InfieldFest at the 137th Preakness Stakes.

The hard-partying centaur known as Kegasus will be back to promote this year’s $1 Million Preakness Stakes.

The Maryland Jockey Club announced in a news release on Monday that Kegasus, Lord of the Preakness InfieldFest, will serve as the voice and personality of the InfieldFest advertisements again this year.

In February, the “International Brotherhood of Mythical Creatures” as part of a marketing gimmick.

The 137th Preakness Stakes is set to run on May 19.

The InfieldFest was developed as a way to lure spectators back to Preakness after ticket sales took a dive following a 2009 decision to ban outside alcohol from Pimlico Race Course.

This year the InfieldFest will feature performances by the band Maroon 5 and the rapper Wiz Khalifa.
