Loyola Launching Business Accelerator in Govans

The university is partnering with Wasabi Ventures to to start the accelerator.

announced Tuesday it will be creating a business accelerator in the Govans neighborhood.

The purpose of the accelerator is to collaborate with local entrepreneurs to create new businesses, according to a news release.

The university will be launching the accelerator in partnership with California based venture capital firm Wasabi Ventures. The firm will provide the staff to manage the accelerator as well as funding for start-ups and internships for Loyola students.

Thomas “T.K.” Kuegler, co-founder of Wasabi Ventures, is a 1994 graduate of Loyola.

The accelerator will start operating this spring from property on Winston Avenue the university recently acquired, according to the news release.
