Red Fish Liquor License Hearing Delayed

A hearing on a request to from the license of Red Fish Liquors in Hampden has been postponed.

The hearing, originally scheduled before the Board of Liquor License Commissioners for 3 p.m. Thursday, was delayed at the request of the license holder’s attorney.

license prevents the store from selling liquor bottles smaller than a pint, individual beers that are not 22 ounces and cost at least $4, and doesn’t allow for Keno to be played at the store.

The restrictions were placed on the license to placate residents who objected to the store being opened in 2009. In 2010, Red Fish was ordered to close for six months because the liquor board found it in violation of those terms.

But the store was allowed to reopen when the license transferred to new owners, who now want to have the restrictions removed.
