Councilman Stokes and Councilwoman Clarke Team Up Tonight for Public Safety Community Meeting

Stopping Crime in District 12 and District 14 are Shared Top Priorities

This is just a short note to encourage everyone to come out tonight to join in a community conversation to talk about how we can reduce crime in our community.  Initiated by Councilman Carl Stokes and Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke, the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church.  The church is located at 2200 St. Paul Street and there's ample parking nearby.  Come with questions, answers, suggestions, ideas, critiques, compliments...anything that you think will move us forward as we work together to reduce crime in our neighborhoods.

Northern District Commander Sabrina Tapp-Harper will be there as will State's Attorney Greg Bernstein.  The meeting is being held with the support of the Charles Village Community Benefits District, the Charles Village Civic Association, the Harwood Community Association and the Greater Greenmount Community Association.  Leaders of these organizations are expected.  They need to hear from you about your expectations, needs and offers of help.

On Saturday I had the chance to speak about tonight's meeting with a number of neighbors celebrating the marathon on Guilford Avenue.  All were pleased that Stokes and Clarke are teaming up to help bring some solutions to help stop crime in the area.  I'm hoping all of my neighbors will come out tonight and be part of the solution.  After all, as my mom has always said, "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem".  So, be there!  Please?!!
