Bagby Restaurant Group Offers Dining Downtown by Eddie Applefeld

2 selections for downtown dining

There are lots of excellent choices for dining downtown, especially in Harbor East.  Following are two examples, both part of the Bagby Restaurant Group.  They are Ten Ten, 1010 Fleet Street and Fleet Street Kitchen, 1012 Fleet Street. Yes next to each other.

If you like wine, then you'll want to know Fleet Street Kitchen (FSK) offers 30 wines for under $30.00 Monday through Saturday from 5 to 6 pm.  If you ask, and the staff has time, you can take a look at the wine cellar.  They are open Monday through Saturday serving dinner only.

Happy Hour is available, new menu posted online.  Business attire is recommended as are reservations on weekends.  Chef Chris Becker would be happy to be a bit creative with your dinner order.  He uses locally grown veggies and herbs.

If you have dinner there you get free valet parking.  Something of importance downtown.  For more information call 410-244-5830 (fleetstreetkitchen.com)

Ten Ten offers 50% off wine every Monday with dinner.  They also offer their customers a pre-fixe dinner menu Sunday through Wednesday ($32.00).  The menu varies with options that include fish, seafood, chicken and beef.  They're open Sundays for brunch and dinner and lunch and dinner the rest of week (Saturday dinner only).

There's a Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 5 to 7.  Plate prices range from $4.00 to $5.00.  The beverage director Tim Riley is known for his creative concoctions.  Dinner reservations are recomended.   Free valet with dinner.  If you would like to spend New Year's there, you can get a $69.00 4 course dinner choice, an additional $35.00 with wine pairing.   Actually both restaurants have a pre-fixe New Year's menu.  (bagbystenten.com)   At midnight you'll only have to walk a few steps to see the fireworks.

Harbor East quickly became my favorite part of the city.  After eating at any restaurant, I suggest a stroll through the streets to check out the shopping.  You might even think about going to the movies, Landmark Cinemas is located on President Street.
