Baltimore 8th Best for Women's Well-Being
Measure of America examined the factors such as life expectancy, income and education to rank the top 25 metro areas in the nation.
Baltimore is eighth best place for women’s well being out of the most populous 25 metro areas in the nation, according to a recent study.
A study released by Measure of America, a project of the Social Science Research Council, measured data on indicators such as where women live the longest, earn the most money and have the highest level of educational attainment.
The study found the Baltimore metro area is in the top half of those cities.

The top city for women’s well being is our neighbor to the south Washington, DC, followed by San Francisco, Boston and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Baltimore was ranked higher than major metro areas such as Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia.

According to data from the report, life expectancy for women in Baltimore is 80.4 years old, the median income for women is $32,454 a year and 34.4 percent of women have at least a bachelor’s degree.
The data isn’t all good news: women in Baltimore ranked 24 out of 25 for life expectancy followed only by Detroit.
