Baltimore Animal Rescue Groups Waive Cat Adoptions Fees

Rescue groups hope to find homes for pets during "kitten season."

The Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance would like you to come pick up a tuna loving, string chasing, furry new best friend.

It’s now kitten season in Baltimore and many of these animals are in need of a new home. The alliance is launching its annual “Baltimore 500: A Race to Save Lives,” a push to find 500 cats new homes, and will be waving adoption fees for cats and kittens.

"We are now in ‘kitten season’ when there is a surge of adorable, unwanted kittens entering animal shelters that are already full with cats needing homes," Aileen Gabbey, Executive Director of the MD SPCA said in a news release. "Our goal is to find forever homes for at least 500 homeless cats and kittens in our shelters throughout June, so we encourage people to consider adopting their first cat or adding to their family."
