After holding only one meeting last month, the Baltimore City Council will hold its first meeting in May. Items on the agenda include budget items, a proposed surcharge for trespass towing and a proclamation declaring Nov. 2 "Do It Now Day" in honor of William Donald Schaefer.

The new month also brings a fresh round of community meetings. This week the Roland Park Civic League will be holding its monthly meeting at Roland Park Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

This week's weather starts off with rain in the forecast, but according to the National Weather Service, conditions will improve later in the week. There is a chance for showers throughout the day Monday, carrying through to Wednesday. However, sunny skies are expected in Baltimore late in the week, and they are expected to last into the weekend.
