Flash Flood Warning Issued for Baltimore City

There have been no reports of flooding yet, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

UPDATE (9:40 p.m.) —Falls Road at Smith Avenue has been closed because of water on the road, according to the Baltimore City Police Department's Twitter account.

Power is out at several traffic lights along York Road and power in the Guilford neighborhood was out. Between 51 and 250 people in that area are without power, According to the BGE website.

The Mt. Washington Mill area was evacuated earlier in the day because of the rising Jones Falls, but most of North Baltimore is handling Wednesday's heavy rains without a problem.

Beneath Interstate 83 near Hampden and Woodberry the Jones Falls flowed swiftly and higher than usual, but didn't appear to threaten any property.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Baltimore City that will be in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday.

The showers are expected to continue through the night and will be heavy at times, and new rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible, according to the National Weather Service.
