So you want to help out Baltimore's four-legged friends? Come on by and participate in the silent auction, raffle or money wheel. Parkside Pub will even be featuring drink specials with 20 percent of the bar proceeds going to the animal rescue.

Why Go:

Amateur theater can be fun, especially when local kids are performing. Bye Bye Birdie will feature Church of the Redeemer's youth group.

3. Native at Golden West Cafe

Where/When:

Golden West Cafe, 1105 W. 36th St., Friday, 10 p.m.

Why Go:

Native, an Indiana-bred post-punk quartet, plays one of North Baltimore's most intimate concert settings. Native's sound is jangly arpeggio guitars mixed with an aggressive but slightly off-kilter rhythm section and growling punk vocals. If you enjoy bands like Fugazi or Q and Not U, this should make for an entertaining show from an up-and-coming band.

Homewood Field on Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus, Saturday, 1 p.m.

Why Go:

A big early matchup in Division I men's lacrosse as the Blue Jays take on the Princeton Tigers. This will be the 81st meeting between these two storied programs.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Saturday
