Attention Baltimore Youth: Governor, Mayor Announce Funding for Summer Jobs

Gov. Martin O’Malley and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake today are announcing new funding for youth summer jobs.

The announcement will be made at Maryland Institute College of Art, where 20 residents are working through the YouthWorks program.  That program, combined with the Hire One Youth program, have resulted in 5,000 residents between the age of 14 and 21 being offered summer jobs at 545 sites throughout the city, according to a news release.

Both Rawlings-Blake and O'Malley made a similar announcement at the Academy for College and Career Exploration two years ago.
