Knife-wielding Man Shot By Police, A Shooting Incident Investigated in Essex and a Local Columnist Says the Rain Tax Is A Necessary Evil

1. A 49-year-old man was shot to death Saturday by police after he allegedly refused to drop a knife he was carrying. Police officers were called to the home on Daventry Drive after someone told a 911 operator that the man was threatening people.

2. Baltimore County Police continue to investigate a shooting incident in Essex early Sunday that left one man injured. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. near the intersection of Ballard Avenue and Midego Drive.

3. Local Political columnist Barry Rascovar understands that people hate to pay more in taxes but says the stormwater management fee, some times called the rain tax by opponents, is necessary for a cleaner Chesapeake Bay.
