North Baltimore Crime: Bikes Popular Targets

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Attempted Larceny from Auto: 300 block of East 30th Street, between 11 p.m., Aug. 13 and 2 p.m., Aug. 14. The window of a 2002 Ford was broken, the interior ransacked but nothing was stolen.

Recovered Stolen Auto: 400 block of East 29th Street, 5:30 p.m., Aug. 14. A stolen blue 2004 Ford Taurus was recovered.

Burglary Residential: 300 block of East 29th Street, 7:50 a.m. and 10 a.m., Aug. 15. A burglar smashed the glass window of a basement door and stole an iPod, laptop, PlayStation 3 and a television.

Larceny Shoplifting: 500 block of East Belvedere Avenue, 5:10 p.m., Aug. 15. A shoplifter entered Tuesday Morning and grabbed a black leather purse with a gold chain valued at $198 and ran from the store.

Cedarcroft

Larceny from Auto: 200 block of Cedarcroft Road, between 3 p.m., Aug. 16 and 9:20 a.m., Aug. 17. A wallet, driver’s license and personal documents were stolen from a 2001 Mercedes C320.

Charles Village

Larceny Bicycle: 2600 block of Howard Street, between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Aug. 12. An unsecured bike was stolen from a rack.

Larceny from Building: 2700 block of North Charles Street, between 9 p.m., Aug. 14 and 6 p.m., Aug 15. A wallet with a driver’s license and credit card were stolen from an office.

Larceny from Building: 3400 block of North Charles Street, between 1 and 5 p.m., Aug. 13. A wallet with a driver’s license, credit and debit cards was stolen from a desk.

Larceny from Auto: unit block Art Museum Drive, between 1:30 and 3:35 p.m., Aug. 15. The window of a 2005 Toyota was broken and a handicap placard was stolen.

Stolen Auto: 2500 block of Maryland Avenue, between 5 p.m., Aug. 16 and 6 a.m., Aug. 17. A blue 2012 Kingring scooter was stolen.

Evergreen

Burglary Garage: 100 block of Hawthorne Road, between 8 p.m., Aug. 14 and 7:20 p.m., Aug. 14. The glass on the garage door was broken the burglar entered the garage and stole two bikes.

Larceny Bicycle: 100 block of Hawthorne Road, 11:45 a.m., Aug. 14. A bike was stolen from the rear of a home.

Larceny Bicycle: 4600 block of Wilmslow Road, 9:15 p.m., Aug. 15. Three bikes unsecured bikes were stolen from the porch.

Guilford

Burglary Residential: 3800 block of Greenmount Avenue, 5:30 p.m., Aug. 14. A woman heard someone enter her home through the rear unlocked door and thought it was her husband. When she called out to him the burglar fled the home.

Hampden

Burglary Residential: 2600 block of Hampden Avenue, between 6:30 and 7 p.m., Aug. 14. A burglar forced open a window and screen and stole a purse, wallet, glasses, makeup case and various papers.

Larceny from Building: 800 block of West 35th Street, between 11 and 11:39 a.m., Aug. 16. A family member used a key and stole a digital camera, cash and family photos.

Burglary Residential: 500 block of Chestnut Avenue, between 10 and 11:35 a.m., Aug. 17. The resident returned home and heard noises upstairs and fled the house. While outside of the home the resident heard the front door slam. The house was ransacked but no property was missing.

Burglary Residential: 3800 block of Hickory Avenue, 12:30 p.m., Aug. 14. A burglar used a tire iron and a bolt cutter to force open a rear door. A witness saw the burglar leaving the home and video recorded the suspect. Officers investigated the burglary and have obtained a warrant.

Burglary Commercial: 1500 block of Union Avenue, 6:30 p.m., Aug. 14. The burglar forced open an office door and stole a laptop and bag. Surveillance video shows the burglar entering and exiting the building.  

Harwood

Burglary Residential: 300 block of East 27th Street, 2 p.m., Aug 15. Two MacBooks, a laptop, Wii, television, suitcase and guitar were stolen from a house. The police conducted an investigation, located the property at 323 East Lorraine Avenue and made an arrest at that location.

Homeland

Stolen Auto: 5400 block of Willowmere Way, 1:15 p.m., Aug. 13. A white 2005 Chrysler Town and Country was stolen from after the keys were left in the ignition.

Lake Evesham

Larceny from Auto: 300 block of Melrose Avenue, 4:30 p.m., Aug. 16 and 8 a.m., Aug. 17. A black backpack was stolen from a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. 

Larceny from Auto: 300 block of Melrose Avenue, 4:30 p.m., Aug. 16 and 8 a.m., Aug. 17. Two Garmin GPS were stolen from a gray Honda Civic. 

Mt. Washington

Burglary Residential: 5900 block of Smith Avenue, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Aug. 12. A burglar unlocked the front door and stole glasses, sunglasses, shoes and an umbrella. The burglar also took the keys to a green 1995 Honda Civic that was parked in the driveway and stole the vehicle.

Recovered Stolen Auto: 2200 block of Sulgrave Avenue, 12:45 p.m., Aug. 16. A burgundy 1997 Dodge Caravan was stolen.  

Oakenshawe

Larceny from Auto: 200 block of East University Parkway, between 5 p.m., Aug. 14 and 1 p.m., Aug. 15. A Garmin GPS was stolen from a 2003 Volkswagen.

Poplar Hill

Stolen Auto: 1200 block of Poplar Hill Road, between midnight, Aug. 16 and 2 p.m., Aug. 17. A white 2008 Scion was stolen. 

Radnor-Winston

Larceny from Building: 5000 block of York Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Aug. 16. A wallet, $100 and a checkbook were stolen from an unsecured office.

Remington

Attempted Burglary: 400 block of West 28th Street, between 6 and 11 p.m., Aug. 16. A burglar tried to enter the home by trying to bust a lock.

Roland Park

Burglary Garage: 4800 block of Keswick Road, 12:30 p.m., Aug. 14. Burglars entered the unlocked side door and stolen two bikes.

Burglary Garage: 4400 block of Roland Avenue, 4:30 p.m., Aug. 12 and 7:45 a.m., Aug. 13. The front door of a garage was forced open and three bikes were stolen.

Larceny Bicycle: 4500 block of Roland Avenue, between 3 p.m., Aug. 13, and 5:45 p.m., Aug. 15. Two unsecure bikes were stolen from a porch.

Tuscany-Canterbury

Larceny from Auto: 200 Ridgemere Road, between 4 p.m., Aug. 16 and 11:30 a.m., Aug. 17. A 2006 Honda CRV was broken into and $5 was stolen.

Larceny from Auto: 3700 North Charles Street, between 7 p.m., Aug. 16. And 8:30 a.m., Aug. 17. A Magellan GPS was stolen from a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Waverly

Larceny from Auto: 3100 block of Old York Road, between 8:50 a.m. and 9:20 p.m., Aug. 16. The window of a 2002 Honda Odyssey was broken and a stereo, $100 and a purse were stolen from.

Larceny Other: 500 block of East 36th Street, between 12:30 and 7:30 p.m., Aug. 12. A visitor to the house stole a television, possibly.

Woodberry

Stolen Auto: 3400 block of Seneca Street, between 4:30 p.m. and 7:55 p.m., Aug. 17. A green 2002 Honda Accord was stolen.
