Water Meter Bill Passes

On Monday, the Baltimore City Council requiring all accessible residential water meters be read before a customer can be billed. Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke, D-District 14, introduced the legislation.

"This is going to help us to get our billing to be accountable," Clarke said following the council meeting Monday.

Remington Murder Trial to Begin

On Tuesday, it was announced the murder trial of  20, is scheduled to begin on Aug. 8.

Abdullah is charged with the murder of 18-year-old Johma Blackwell. Blackwell was stabbed to death in her home in the 2600 block of Huntingdon Ave. in late March.

Kiefaber Questions Senator Plans

Tom Kiefaber, former owner of the , questioned the proposed renovation plans for the historic cinema during a Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals hearing Tuesday. During the hearing, Kiefaber complained that changes proposed by current operators Buzz and Kathleen Cusack are significantly different than what was accepted under the city’s request for proposal that ended with the Cusacks as the theater’s operators.

Roland Park Elementary Students Evacuate Smoking Bus

A yellow school bus carrying 36 from Roland Park Elementary School was forced to pull over on northbound I-83 and evacuate its passengers Wednesday morning after smoke began billowing out the back of the vehicle.

Driver Fined in Collision with Hopkins Cyclist

A woman was fined more than $200 in connection with an accident that critically injured a Johns Hopkins University student. Jeanette Marie Walke, 83, pleaded guilty to charges of negligent driving and failing to yield right of way to a bicyclist in a designated lane, according to online court records.
