I have no problem with "sharing the road." My gripe is that many of those whom I see on bikes want the "privilege" of being on the road without obeying the rules. I can count on one hand those bikers I see obeying traffic lights and stopping at stop signs. If you want the "privilege," please "play by the rules." Many bikers scare me to death with their stop/go and weaving. Use hand signals to indicate turns, please.

I have been a bike commuter since 1977. I've lived in Baltimore for 10 years. Compared to other cities I have lived in over the period, Baltimore streets are more dangerous than those of Madison, WI and Chicago, IL and about as dangerous as New Orleans, LA. Drivers Ed is the place to begin changing attitudes. I'm glad to see Baltimore is doing that.

I have to say I am sick and tired of hearing about the "bad bicyclist" being the griping point for drivers. If I wanted to start with "bad drivers" we wouldn't have enough time or room. There are idiot bicyclists out there, heck there's one I can think of that I'd like to knock over. BUT ... I thought we were working on a civilized society?
BTW if you see me stop, then move through a red light ... it's because you are freakin me out in your car and I am trying to get away from you.

@MDbeerspotter: Use the sidewalks like real pedestrians.

@bmoreslumwatch: I'd prefer if they stayed on the street not on the sidewalks.

@UrbaniteMD: Give 'em a lane (or hundreds)

@dennisthecynic: Cheap speed bumps. just joking—they're fine, but I wish there were more bike paths for them...
