Police Arrest Suspect in Thursday Night Shootings

Two armed security guards were shot while patrolling the Oak Hill townhomes.

Baltimore City police arrested a suspect in the shooting of two armed security guards in the Oak Hill townhomes on Thursday night, a spokesman confirmed. Det. Kevin Brown, a police spokesman, gave no further details.

Police said a 32-year-old female security guard who was shot in the eye has been released from the hospital, police said early Monday.

A 38-year-old male security guard, who was shot in the chest, is still in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital, said Det. Donny Moses, a spokesman for the Baltimore City police.

Police have not released the identities of the guards.

The guards, who work for Assured Protection Security Agency, were patrolling the development when they encountered “unknown individuals" and a struggle ensued, police said. It is not clear how many others may be involved in the case.

It is also unclear what caused the struggle or if any of the suspects were hit by gunfire, but police said they believe the male security guard fired return shots.
