Remington Murder Trial Scheduled for Friday

Benny Davis allegedly shot and killed D'Andre Thomas in March.

The murder trial of Benny Davis, 24, the man accused of shooting and killing a man in Remington is scheduled to begin on Friday.

According to electronic court records, Davis’ trial is set to begin at 11 a.m., Friday in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

On March 18, Davis allegedly shot D’Andre Thomas in the gut in his home in the 2700 block of Fox Street.

Davis went to the home looking for his girlfriend after the pair had an argument in an apartment in the 900 block of Druid Hill Park Lane. During the argument Davis allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face, and she left saying she was going to her “best friend’s,” according to court documents.

Davis then went to Thomas’ home in Remington and demanded to see his girlfriend. Thomas then reportedly told Davis that she wasn’t at his home.

Later that morning, at about 9:41 a.m., Davis returned to Thomas’ house and allegedly shot him as he tried to leave, according to charging documents.

When officers from the Northern District responded to the scene, they found Thomas lying between the kitchen and living room, and a woman holding a towel on his wound.

When police asked her who had shot Thomas she told them "Benny," according to court documents. 

Police arrested Davis and charged him with the murder the next day.

He now faces three gun related charges and first-degree murder.
