Roadwork to Make University Parkway One-Way Street

The Department of Transportation also announced shoulder closings on Interstate 83.

University Parkway will be made a one-way street heading east between Barclay and St. Paul streets beginning Wednesday, according to an email from Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke’s office.

The road is being made one-way so the city can replace an aging water main. The process is expected to take about two months. After the work is complete, the road will reutrn to two-way traffic.

The Department of Transportation also announced that it will begin replacing streetlights on Interstate 83 from Kelly Avenue to the Baltimore County line starting Monday. The work will result in shoulder closings on both sides of the highway between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday.
