Visions for Vacancies: 3331 Greenmount Avenue

Patch wants to know what you think should fill this commercial space.

This vacant structure sits just north of the intersection of 33rd Street and Greenmount Avenue.

Next door is the the Community Mediation Program and the building is surrounded by several businesses, including a Bank of America branch and several restaurants.

The building has a solid brick facade and is certainly near a lot of foot traffic, although parking may be a bit limited.

What kind of business would be a good fit for this spot? Tell us in comments.

How about a...Chinese restaurant?

Parking is not an issue. There is a large parking lot behind the building that goes with the property. Even though Waverly Crabs carry-out is close by, it might be nice to have a good sit-down crab house.

Bring back a chinese restaurant where families, friends and out-of-town guests celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions; where table hopping is rampant and where you will always see folks you know from all over Baltimore. I have my favorite menu items ready to order - cold noodles & and spicy eggplant

A coffee shop/Gallery/juice bar with a nice big community bulletin board & space for community events... meetings, poetry, workshops, yoga!

Great question, thanks for posing it! I'd like to see something practical that residents in the area need on an ongoing basis so as to help ensure stability on the corridor, and with an owner/,manager that will keep the building and surrounds clean, safe, and well repaired. Of the ideas above I like the coffee shop etc (maybe with bakery??) or sit down restaurant... altho there is considerable competition for that on Greenmount. Laundromat with a cafe? NOT another discount doller store or liquor establishment!
